During the new school year is the perfect time to ensure your program is set up for success with the School Readiness developmental screening requirements!

Stay on Track: Know your Timeframes

• Families have 20 days from the request date to complete required developmental screenings (ASQ-3® and ASQ:SE-2®) through the Family Services Portal.

• If screenings are not completed within 20 days of the request date, they will automatically transfer to the Provider Services Portal, where providers have an additional 45 days to complete them.

• The Coalition will continue sending email reminders for all pending screenings.

The Key to Success: Engage Families Early!

Early Learning Partners play an important role in helping families participate in the developmental screening process. Encourage family engagement by:

·     Sharing ASQ® questionnaires in the family's language spoken at home.

·     Offering support to families as they complete the questionnaires.

·     Giving families credit for completing their child's screening (choose them from the dropdown box when entering the responses on the portal).

Starting early and partnering with families can make the ASQ® process a meaningful experience—not just a requirement. Let's work together to make this school year a successful one for children and families!
