Starting July 1, 2025, the federal government requires changes to SR copayments. At eligibility determination or redetermination, early learning coalitions (ELCs) will assess households one copayment and assign that copayment to only one child. The copayment will be a percentage of household income and based on authorized hours of care (full- or part-time).

Following determination or redetermination or adding a new child or enrollment, you will pay your household copayment to the one provider for your one child with the assigned copayment. If your child attends two SR providers, you will give your copayment to only one provider. Your other children who attend SR providers will not have copayments. Additional fees to the provider may still apply.

If you have a foster child or a child who receives TANF funds or for whom you receive relative caregiver funds, contact the Early Learning Coalition of Miami-Dade/Monroe for a detailed explanation of how copayments are assessed.

Read your children’s certificates to find your copayment for your one child per household with the assigned copayment. This copayment will be paid to the provider this child attends. If your child’s certificate shows a $0.00 copayment, there is no copayment for that child.

If you have questions about these copayment changes, contact us at 305-646-7220 or email us at info@elcmdm.org.
