Preliminary 2020-21 VPK Provider Kindergarten Readiness Rates

June 08, 2022

The Division of Early Learning has posted Preliminary 2020-21 VPK Provider Kindergarten Readiness Rates to the Voluntary Prekindergarten (VPK) Readiness Rate website. Readiness Rates Home | FL Voluntary Prekindergarten | OEL (floridaearlylearning.com)

VPK partners that have never logged into the VPK Readiness Rate website have been sent a letter that provides them with the information needed for the initial login to the system. Please be on the lookout for that letter as it should arrive soon. VPK providers that have previously accessed the system will log in using their already established username and password.

The Provider Verification and Dispute Process will be open until June 24, 2022.

Once you have accessed the website, each provider should complete the following:

  1. Child Verification: Review the list of children who attended your program last year and ensure that the data is accurate. You may edit the name, gender, or date of birth of the children who attended your 2020-21 VPK program.
  2. Hours Attended: Review the hours attended by the children in your program. You can make changes to hours of attendance only when the change results in the hours of attendance being greater or less than 70 percent of the program hours. For school year programs (540 hours), 70 percent is 378 hours of attendance. For summer programs (300 hours), 70 percent is 210 hours of attendance. All changes to the hours of attendance require coalition approval.
  3. A partner wishing to file a dispute may do so during this period. A dispute may be filed for any of the following reasons: the number of children served, screened, meeting substantial completion, or included in the readiness rate calculation. A dispute may also be filed if there is a change of ownership. You may also use the dispute form to provide information about children who are showing as not having participated in the kindergarten screening if the provider has information about the school where the child attended kindergarten. Please do not send any inquiries or information about individual children through email. The dispute form allows providers to communicate securely concerning individual children.

Final Readiness Rates are expected to be released in the last week of June 2022.

IMPORTANT: The 2020-21 VPK Provider Kindergarten Readiness Rates will only have the effect of removing a VPK provider that is already on probation from that status. There will be no new VPK providers placed on probation as a result of the final 2020-21 rates.
