Pay Rate Increase and Bonus Payments
June 04, 2021
Our Board of Directors recently approved a resolution to provide additional funding for all contracted child care providers. We are pleased to announce that our funding partners at the Florida Department of Education, Office of Early Learning, approved the request and for that, we should all be grateful. The additional funding comes in two different categories as follows:
- An increase in the maximum reimbursement rate paid by the Early Learning Coalition (ELC) for all care levels. This translates into increased funding for those providers who qualify for the maximum reimbursement based on their private pay rates. To view the new provider payment rate table, click here. The new rates are effective retroactive to March 1, 2021. Early Education Partners will see the new rates reflected in their May 2021 reimbursements.
- The second category of new funding stems from the request the ELC made to award provider bonuses to all contracted providers serving children in Miami-Dade and Monroe Counties. These bonus payments are in addition to any Phase I – V funding that providers have received or may receive.
This funding is a clear reflection of the ELC’s Board of Directors commitment to support the important work of our early education partners. We trust this additional funding will offer some respite from the tremendous financial pressures brought on by the pandemic. We truly appreciate your continued commitment to provide high-quality early education to our youngest learners.
A note from President and CEO Evelio Torres:
Thank you so much your relentless efforts to provide a quality education to our community’s youngest learners. Please know that you have a strong ELC Board of Directors made up of community leaders who are very appreciative of your work and our excellent partnership. Also, know that they have and will continue to do anything in their power to support your good work. The ELC’s leadership will continue to advocate strongly on your behalf. Together we are creating many opportunities for our community’s children and their families. As so many providers have already done, please do what you can to share the additional financial support with your staff who are so very deserving. A BIG THANK YOU to you and your teams.
