Bonus Payments

I am pleased to announce that in addition to the federal grants you have already received, our board of directors approved an additional bonus payment in an effort to support your programs during this most challenging time. The bonus payments are made to eligible providers serving School Readiness children in Miami-Dade and Monroe counties and are based on the number of School Readiness children served as reflected in the June 2021 attendance records. These bonuses do not require an application. They will be deposited directly into your bank accounts on or around August 19th.

These payments are being made as an incentive to early care and education partners who have continued to serve our youngest children in spite of the tremendous challenges from the pandemic and the continuing struggles to recruit and retain qualified teachers.

Early care and education partners are strongly encouraged to use the funds to cover expenses related to:

  • Salaries, bonuses, and other related incentives;
  • Quality materials and supplies;
  • Rent, mortgage, and utility payments;
  • Back to school materials and supplies;
  • Insurance premiums;
  • Health and safety needs, including vehicle alarms to comply with the new Department of Children and Families requirement;
  • Computers, tablets, and other technology needs.

These bonus payments are provided using federal and state dollars. As such they are subject to audits to determine that the funds were expended for their intended purpose. Please ensure that you maintain documentation to justify the use of these funds for expenses that directly benefit the program and the children served.
