This report – and the children’s programs that serve as its centerpiece – would not be
possible without the support and leadership of the W.K. Kellogg Foundation, which has forged a path for children’s advocates in Miami-Dade County, the state of Florida and beyond. The W.K. Kellogg Foundation and its partners in Florida - The Early Childhood Initiative Foundation, the University of Florida’s Lastinger Center for Learning, Miami-Dade Public Schools, The Children’s Trust, the Early Learning Coalition and United Way’s Center for Excellence in Early Education – have worked collaboratively to improve the well-being and learning of children through the SPARK Initiative (Supporting Partnerships to Assure Ready Kids) and Ready Schools Miami, the Early Childhood Learning Labs Initiative.
- Collaborating with the Every Child Matters Education Fund, Robert G. Lynch, Chair of the Department of Economics at Washington College, published a study: Enriching Children, Enriching the Nation - Public Investment in High-Quality Prekindergarten.Dr. Lynch highlights that "long-term studies of ECD[Early Childhood Development participants have consistently found that investing in children has several lasting, important benefits for the participants, their families, and society at large including taxpayers."
